Katie is a classic and head-turning downeast lobster race boat. She is the last wooden vessel built by Calvin Beal Jr. She was launched in 2007 as “Seashell” named by Calvin Beal’s Granddaughter and later became Katie. Calvin raced the boat as she was designed for performance. The pride and craftsmanship of this wooden vessel is evident. Stepping on to Katie feels like a weekend in Bar Harbor and truly is a unique vessel.

Powered by an Iveco 525 HP Diesel Katie is capable of reaching speeds approaching 40 Knots. Other notable features include 2007 Ace triple axle trailer, custom canvas, and vinyl cushions for the forward settee.

She’s equipped with a Furuno depth finder and New Horizons GPS/Chart plotter. Forward cuddy features a settee and easy access to the engine. Exterior wood is beautifully painted and shows well. Interior wood shines with a stunning lacquer finish.
