LAUNCHED IN 1994, " POCO a POCO" ( LITTLE BY LITTLE) IS AN IMPECCABLE WILLARD 40 PILOTHOUSE, AND A MUST SEE FOR ALL WILLARD ENTHUSIASTS!! LOVING OWNERS ARE MOVING ABROAD, AND MUST SELL " POCO a POCO"Â
Â
This turnkey, well kept, immaculately maintained, and well equipped Willard 40 Pilothouse, is a must see for anyone serious about a single diesel bluewater cruising boat. Built to military specs in California, " Poco a Poco" is ready for her next blue water adventure.Â
Her keel was laid in 1991, and she was launched in 1994, hence the main engine being a 1994 model, kept in sparkling condition by owners with an eye for detail. Aaaah, the joys of a spotless engine room!Â
Stepping aboard "Poco a Poco", one feels the solid build quality immediately underfoot. Covered by a hardtop, the aft deck area provides ample seating for leisurely meals on the hook, access to the sundeck, and access to the huge lazarette with emergency steering etc. There is storage under the aft seating area for any items needed to be accessed easily. Â Heavy cleats and stout fairleads are found all around the vessel, even one directly aft to provide a great point to secure a tow line if needed. Up to the sundeck, and the mast and antennas, one can store kayaks and extra coolers as necessary. This sundeck provides a great sunbathing platform too.Â
Up on the fordeck, the heavy duty Muir 3000lb 12vdc windlass with deck switches provides more than enough power to pull up the 65lb Bruce anchor with 300ft of BBB chain. There are also two stern anchors, a 25lb Danforth, and a 25lb CQR each with 20ft of chain, and 150ft of rode.
Into the salon, and you have good size L-shape settee (to port) to relax on, and a salon table that raises and lowers (spring-loaded). Forward and to stbd there is a good sized galley with an Avanti microwave, Seaward 3 burner stove/oven, Novacool fridge/freezer, double stainless sink and plenty of storage. The salon has a beautiful hardwood floor, and lovely wood blinds to be able to give complete privacy when relaxing in the evenings. In the center of the salon floor, there is a large removable hatch if engine removal were ever necessary, and forward and to port side, there is another hatch which gives engine room access.
The heating and air conditioning registers and return are located centrally on the vessel, and work well to heat or cool the entire vessel. Up the stairs to the pilothouse, and you have all the navigation electronics, engine gauges, and electrical panel. There is a comfortable settee located behind the helmsman’s position for guests to accompany the helmsman while underway.Â
Down the forward stairs to the accommodation, there is a good sized head and shower to port, with the bunk style twin stateroom to the stbd side. Forward is the master stateroom with an island queen berth, and a good amount of storage. All the portlights on the vessel are the high end stainless type, and in excellent condition.Â
Once in the engine room, you realize the care given to "Poco a Poco", with bilges you could eat out of, a 1994 International 8.3lt V8 diesel engine that gleams and looks new, as well as Quicksilver (Kubota) 8Kw generator that looks new. There are three 8D batteries, a Newmar charger, dual Racor fuel filters, 3 electric bilge pumps as well as one manual and a Seaward 11 gallon water heater.Â
"Poco a Poco" is definitely a Willard Pilothouse worth looking at, and is a turnkey solution to your cruising plans. Call the listing broker now to arrange a viewing of this amazing world cruiser!!
