SPRAY IS THE PERFECT FAMILY OR COUPLES BOAT FOR THE COLUMBIA RIVER, AND COASTAL CRUISING! SHE SHOWS LIKE NEW, AND YOU CAN SEE THE LOVE SHE HAS HAD FROM PREVIOUS OWNERS WHEN YOU STAND NEXT TO HER ON THE DOCK!!
SPRAY is absolutely exquisite! She really is a true example of near flawless boat ownership. She needs nothing but your clothes, food, and a desire to go explore the Pacific Northwest in one of the most popular "under 30′ " cruising boats ever built! There is no nicer 28 Tall Rig out there right now!Â
As soon as you step onboard SPRAY, you will realize the level of care and love she has received throughout her life, as it is clearly evident. She has canvas covers for almost everything, exterior teak (very little) is varnished and under canvas, and she is spotless. Rigged to sail shorthanded, all lines are led aft to the cockpit. The cockpit is large for a 28′ boat, and can seat at least 4-5 adults comfortably. The Autohelm autopilot adds greatly to short handed "sailability", and the wheel drive unit was replaced with new in 2012. The engine panel is a new Catalina panel, and was replaced along with full wiring harness in 2018.
Down the large companionway, and into a very airy and light salon. Once again, it is hard to believe she is a 28′ vessel, as she feels much larger. This is due to Catalina’s great use of space, and layout. Galley is to starboard, and has a two burner propane stove, and a large stainless steel sink (new in 2007), and good amount of counter space. When prepping meals for more than two, the salon table can be opened up to full size, and used as extra counter space to prep on. The boat is heated by a very fuel efficient Webasto diesel forced air diesel furnace. The salon table seats 6 comfortably, and the boat sleeps 6. Two in the salon in single berths, two up in the v-berth, and two in the double berth aft. The engine compartment is under the companionway stairs, and easy to access. The 18hp Universal diesel is housed here, and is in completely spotless, well maintained, and in corrosion free condition.Â
To port, you have a large ice box below the easy to use electrical panel. Just aft of ice box and elec panel, you have the head and shower. The toilet is a Jabsco manual toilet, least likely to break down when you are on an outing, and easiest to work on!
All in all, SPRAY is a very well maintained, ready to cruise vessel. With a thoughtful layout, and good upgrades like heating and autopilot, she will make you an able and comfortable coastal or river cruiser. Do not wait, call the listing broker today, as she will not last long.Â
