"QUINTESSENCE"Â IS QUITE SIMPLY THE BEST 44 CENTER COCKPIT ON THE MARKET, LET ALONE THE BEST HYLAS ON THE MARKET TODAY! GERMAN FRERS DESIGN, METICULOUSLY MAINTAINED AND UPGRADED BY LOVING OWNERS, DO NOT MISS OUT ON THIS GEM!!!
If a 44 Hylas Center Cockpit or similar is what you are looking for to cruise the world in comfort, style, and safety, then you’ve found the only boat for you! QUINTESSENCE is simply gorgeous, and needs virtually nothing to go cruising today. The current owners have put a lot of love and thought into the boat, and it shows.
Deck and house painted with Imron and KiwiGrip, new custom stainless fuel tanks, newer Perkins/Westerbeke 70 hp diesel engine installed 2018, new transmission installed on previous engine (same engine) in 2009, all deck hardware rebedded, radar replaced, custom hard dodger, holding tank replaced, wiring gone through and upgraded as necessary, new lifelines,fridge/freezer replaced, engine mounts replaced, and the list goes on, please see more in the specs.Â
The curb appeal of QUINTESSENCE is breathtaking when you walk down the dock, but once onboard, you realize that she is gorgeous inside and out. Hardly any varnished exterior surfaces means lots of lovely stainless steel hardware, which translates to "easy to maintain". You can see by her hardware alone, she was meant to cruise oceans. Her build quality and pedigree show! The cockpit is large, spacious, and very nice for long passages to get out of the weather with the full canvas, and very nicely built custom hard dodger. Great location for 5 o’clock cocktails with friends. Halyards and control lines are lead aft to run the boat comfortably from the cockpit with two onboard.Â
Down the companionway stairs, and you are greeted with a vast salon, spacious enough to make a guy who is 6’4" feel comfortable! There is a large u-shaped dinette to port, and a long settee to starboard. Directly aft of the companionway stairs is the engine compartment with easy access to all areas of it, very spacious indeed. Aft and to port is the chart table/nav station, and aft to stbd is the galley. The galley has enough space and amenities with a three burner propane stove and oven, large fridge and freezer boxes, and counter space, to whip up culinary wonders from the local seafood you’ve caught. Afterwards, there is a large double stainless steel sink to cleanup in. Â
Aft of the galley, one finds the master stateroom, and the master head/shower. This living area makes for comfortable accommodation, whether underway or at dock/anchor. The stbd side settee is also a single berth, with a lee cloth to prevent accidental spills while under sail. The forward v-berth, is spacious enough for a couple, and also has its own head/shower for convenience.Â
QUINTESSENCE is very well equipped in all aspects, from electronics, to deck hardware and everything in between. She carries a 2002 Avon dinghy and Yamaha outboard as tender, which lives on the stainless davits off the transom, and even has a liferaft for long ocean passages. Bring your clothes and groceries, and go! QUINTESSENCE’s engine was replaced in 2018, with the exact same Perkins/Westerbeke that was in the boat, only this motor had about 90 hours on it. The transmission was new in 2009. The auxillary system on this boat is excellent! All in all QUINTESSENCE is a clean, well maintained, freshwater kept, ready to go world cruiser, just waiting for you to make her yours! Don’t delay, call the listing broker today to schedule your viewing of something special!Â
