1978 DeFever 49 Raised Pilothouse Trawler

NIRVANA has been owned by the same couple for the last 15yrs. They have loved, maintained, heavily upgraded, and cruised her. You can see it as soon as step aboard, which is quite easy through one of the side entry doors. Covered side decks keep you dry in wet conditions, or in shade in hot conditions. The enclosed aft deck can be opened up in hot weather, and has two large seating areas. 

The salon is classic teak, and feels very comfortable due to the large salon widows giving you plenty of light and a great view. There is a L-shaped settee to port, and twin leather barrel chairs to stbd. Just right, not too crowded. A flat screen TV is situated to the forward portside of the salon, and is part of the Satellite TV system, so you can catch your favorite shows when at anchor in remote locations.

Forward of the salon is the open galley, allowing the chef to interact with guests in the salon. Sufficiently equipped, there is a propane four burner stove and oven, microwave, large fridge, a stainless sink, and plenty of counter space and storage. There is also a stbd side deck access door directly across from the galley, for easy access when docking. There is also an engine room access in the forward mid section of the galley

The pilothouse is large, with a good size settee for guests to accompany the pilot while underway, and even a table to enjoy a meal together. Most of the electronics are newer, and a new owner need not change anything, rather just go cruising. There are pilothouse doors on both side of the pilothouse, to allow for quick viewing of either side of the vessel while docking. Large forward windows give great visibility. 

The accommodations are more than ample with a large master suite, featuring a full walk around island berth, a huge amount of storage space, and an ensuite head and shower. The forward guest stateroom has twin bunks, and makes use of  the day head and shower, located right aft of it. There is also access to the chain locker from the guest stateroom.

The engine room is very well laid out, expertly maintained, and well labeled. The owner is an ex-airline pilot, and is very fastidious in his approach to constant maintenance. Everything is very easily accessible in this engine room, and it’s well lit. 

The flybridge gives great all around views when navigating tight corners, and has everything necessary to run the boat from up there. The boat deck is huge, and allows for easy loading and unloading of the vessel’s tender. The davit has been upgraded to a heavier duty davit during current owners ownership.
