WS Yacht Brokers Welcomes Industry Veteran Jim Palmer to Its Expanding Team

WS Yacht Brokers proudly announces the addition of Jim Palmer to its growing team of professional yacht brokers. With over four decades of hands-on marine industry experience, Jim brings an exceptional blend of technical expertise, craftsmanship, and passion for the boating lifestyle that aligns perfectly with the brokerage’s commitment to excellence.

Jim’s lifelong connection to the sea began as a teenager aboard his father’s boats, where summers were spent fishing for tuna and salmon along the Pacific Coast. What started as family adventure evolved into a lifelong vocation—spanning marine service, yacht construction, and ownership support.

After starting his career in the shipyards of Seattle, Jim joined Lanphere & Son Marine as lead electrician and plumbing foreman for custom yacht builds. In 1980, he became part of the pioneering team at Christensen Motor Yachts in Vancouver, Washington—helping to build and deliver more than 30 luxury motor yachts ranging from 65’ to 155’. His expertise extended from mechanical and electrical systems to vessel testing and global delivery, including transits through the Panama Canal.

In 2000, Jim launched his own marine repair and refit company, continuing to serve yacht owners throughout the Pacific Northwest. A long-standing member and water-owner at the Columbia River Yacht Club, he and his wife Shauna keep their 11-meter Trojan close to home, enjoying the region’s waterways and boating community.

“My goal is simple: to bring my experience, passion, and lifelong knowledge of boating to help others achieve their dream of boat ownership,” said Jim Palmer.
