Fred Clark
With over 40 years of experience in the marine industry, Fred brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to his role at W S Yacht Brokers. Originally from Victoria, BC, Canada, Fred grew up immersed in the maritime world. His family owned and operated a marina and shipyard, complete with a ships chandlery and fuel dock. This environment provided Fred with a comprehensive understanding of marina management, operations, sales, and service.
Fred’s early experiences included working alongside his father and uncle in the construction of commercial and pleasure boats and operating one of the first 50-ton travel lifts on Vancouver Island—a game-changer that eliminated the need for nighttime launches via marine railway during high tides.
Fred’s love for the water began at a young age, steering him toward crewing on commercial fishing vessels and yacht deliveries. After moving to San Diego in 1988, Fred briefly explored real estate and property renovation but soon returned to his roots in the maritime industry. He contributed to the America’s Cup Organizing Committee before taking on a 30-year tenure as Dockmaster at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort—a role he cherished every single day.
Fred and his wife, Sandy, share a deep love for life on the water, often spending family vacations aboard their vessel at Catalina Island’s Cherry Cove. They currently reside aboard their 52-foot Jefferson Motor Yacht, embracing the yachting lifestyle to its fullest.
Fred’s extensive experience, coupled with his lifelong passion for boating, allows him to expertly guide clients through their yachting journey. Whether you’re buying your first boat or upgrading to your dream yacht, Fred is here to assist every step of the way.
