Demian Thomas
Demian’s passion for everything water runs deep. Hailing from Port Elizabeth and Cape Town, South Africa, Demian was exposed to his first love at an early age. While his parents hand-built their dream sailboat, Demian explored the beaches and sea with surfing, competitive lifeguarding, and windsurfing, until his Grandfather Mox taught him how to sail on his Hobie Cat at 8 years old. At 14, his parents pulled the hook and departed Cape Town and crossed the Atlantic, arriving in Brazil, until they settled on St. Maarten in the Caribbean. It was there he began honing his skills in the yachting industry. Demian started captaining yachts at 19. His knowledge grew from hull to helm; on snorkel boats, sunset cruises and even an America’s Cup racing sailboat, until island fever kicked in and he crossed the Atlantic and worked in the charter yacht industry in the Mediterranean. Finally, he landed in Ft Lauderdale and began his private yacht career in the early 2000’s. He has cruised the Caribbean, Mediterranean, Mexico and Central America, and both the East and West Coast of the USA.
Demian sailed to Seattle in 2012 and shortly after started a yacht maintenance and management company. He also is an instructor for driving/managing boats for owner operators. In 2015, Demian met his wife and started a family in the Pacific Northwest. They bought their sailing catamaran in 2022 and sailed it as a family from Florida to Seattle. With over 30 years experience, he has developed a vast knowledge of everything nautical and thoroughly enjoys helping clients keep their vessels safe and comfortable. Utilizing his wealth of knowledge for boats and the marine industry, Demian looks forward to helping clients find their perfect fit to create lasting memories.
