David Moore
Originally from Hanover, Massachusetts, Dave Moore has more than 30 years of sales, marketing, and corporate development experience spanning the medical diagnostics, clinical chemistry, biotechnology, medical device industries, and most recently since 2008, yacht sales. Dave pursued his dream of owning his own company, Cruising Yachts, Inc. which became the largest new yacht dealer in Northern California. Along with the yacht dealership he was co-owner of Club Nautique, LLC which is among the largest professional sailing and boat handling schools in the U.S.. Dave has been a boating enthusiast since his childhood and purchased his first boat, a 32’ Pacemaker sedan cruiser at age 22, while stationed in Norfolk, Virginia as a Marine Corps Officer. As the USS Inchon’s Combat Cargo Officer he became the only Marine Corps Officer to achieve his Surface Warfare Officer (SWO) pin for successfully passing the intense Navy requirements to be Officer of the Deck both in-port and underway as a Duty Watch Section Leader. Dave was awarded the Marine Corps’ highest leadership award by President Reagan and was recruited by Abbott Laboratories to promote cancer products utilizing then-patented use of monoclonal antibodies. Dave is currently a Coast Guard licensed Captain and owns a 47’ Motoryacht, which he purchased new in 1988 and has personally navigated and skippered 11 round trips to and from San Diego to San Francisco Bay and finally to Portland, Oregon.
Mr. Moore served as Vice President of Worldwide Sales and Marketing for Qualigen, Inc., successfully bringing a new prostate cancer in vitro diagnostic instrument and consumables to the physician office market. Mr. Moore has also held pivotal Executive positions with KPL, a manufacturer of immunological and genomic products for diagnostic and pharmaceutical applications, and MAST ImmunoSystems, a manufacturer of allergy and autoimmune testing systems. He has held sales and marketing management positions with Hycor Biomedical, Hybritech, and Abbott Diagnostics.
Mr. Moore earned his bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry from Valparaiso University, and an MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth University. He served our country as a USMC Captain. He is active in numerous civic activities, which include raising money for fallen Marine families and is the Chairman of the Board of Directors at his local Lutheran Church.
